Swarthout Coaches Inc. has been upstate New York’s premier charter bus for over 70 years, proudly providing safe and reliable group transportation for the greater Ithaca and Tompkins County communities.  We are seeking full and part time operators who love to travel and meet new people.

The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Must possess a valid commercial driver’s license or permit with Passenger endorsement and have a clean driving record.
• Previous experience as a charter, school, or transit bus driver is preferred, however paid training will be provided.
• Must be a minimum of 21-years old.
• Ability to maintain a professional, courteous, and respectful demeanor with passengers, other drivers, motorists, and regulatory and compliance authorities.
• Knowledge of local traffic laws and regulations and a commitment to operate a commercial motor vehicle within those laws and regulations.
• Must meet physical qualifications as examinations as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment and ongoing random drug and alcohol testing pursuant to FMCSA guidelines and the Company Drug and Alcohol Policy.

Pay: $25.61 – $28.48 per hour, including overtime pay in excess of 40 hours.

Schedule: varies due to charter demand, includes day trips and overnight trips, depending on group needs and itineraries.
