Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a strong understanding of food preparation techniques. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly by assisting with meal preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the overall efficiency of our restaurant. Pay: From $17-$22 per hour based on experience

Duties

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring food items.
• Follow recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure consistency in meal preparation.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards.
• Help with menu planning by providing input on seasonal ingredients and dish ideas.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as knives, slicers, and mixers safely and efficiently.
• Collaborate with the owner, management and other kitchen staff to ensure timely service during peak hours.
• Participate in training new kitchen staff on food handling practices and preparation techniques.
• Assist with inventory, food counts and determining par levels.

Requirements

• Previous experience in the food industry or restaurant environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of food handling safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong knife skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
• A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new skills in meal preparation and menu planning.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed.
